IP (Internet Protocol)

The Internet Protocol is a method of transmitting data over a network. The data being sent can be divided into individual and completely independent 'packets.' Every computer (or host) on the internet has at least one address that distinguishes it from other computers, and each data packet contains the sender's address and the receiver's address.
