CGI Syntax (Common Gateway Interface)

CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface. It is a standard interface program that allows your web page to communicate with the WWW server, achieving interaction with users. Through CGI programs, you can dynamically generate web pages, displaying the latest data from the server. When you link to a CGI object, the document you retrieve is not static data but a dynamically generated HTML data stream by the program. The returned data may change every second or respond differently based on specific user queries, such as stock market quotes. In simple terms, CGI programs can dynamically generate WWW pages and allow general users to access existing data within traditional information systems through the WWW.
